Press Release from Global Public School on Global Annual Sports SummitGlobal Public School (CBSE) in Veppur near Arcot conducted Annual Sports Summit -2017 in association with Rite Stride, on 4th February 2017 in their plush playground in their Campus. Rite Stride is an international sports training organization that offers sports and nutrition curriculum under NASPE guidelines. Global Public School is the first school in Vellore region to offer such sports training to its students. The Chief guest of the Sports summit was Ms. Aarathy Kasturiraj, India's fastest skater and the one to have represented India in international skating events. Speaking on the occasion Ms. Aarathy described vividly how her reach to the pinnacle in skating was not an easy cake walk but rigorous and consistent practice. She appreciated Global Public School for having taken steps to give the best sports training to their students by partnering with Rite Stride –which offers NASPE certified international sports curriculum. Sports is one field that opens up the global arena to students and youth. Studies coupled with sports throws open a world of opportunity to youngsters and children she said. Special guest for the occasion was Mr. Srikanth, the renowned actor of Tamil siver screens. Apart from adding brilliance to the sports function he urged students to excel not only in education but in all spheres especially in sports. Sports offer us a change from monotony of daily life and it is the means of entertainment apart from physical activity. Declaring the sports summit open Mr. Ram Prasad the Global Public School Correspondent urged students to stay healthy and physical fit. A healthy nation is always a wealthy nation. Therefore the students should excel in sports for the cause of the nation. Speaking on the occasion the school chairperson Mrs. Hema Prasad stressed on the importance of sports & games in students life. Sports and games foster team spirit among children and make them disciplined. Mrs. Vijayalakshmi CEO of RITE STRIDE participated in the sports day celebration and spoke about what all they do and their sports training. Many events like running, high jump, long jump, relay, aerobics and pyramid formation were held. A colourful march past was held before the unfurling of sports flag and the lighting of Olympics torch. Many sporting activities were held even for the parents. Ms. Aarathy Kasturiraj distributed the prizes to the winners of the track and field events held.
